The creator of this project has volunteered for years in the NYC school system, specifically with music programs. I am personally familiar with the impact music makes in children's lives: my daughters participated in marching band and jazz band, two activities which kept them interested in completing high school and going on to college. The band was a key element in keeping students off drugs and alcohol. Music is still central to their lives. Thanks for the chance to send praises to the...

This is wonderful. More of us should take responsibility for the children we are raising and promote more positive activities and attitudes. We have also created a Pay it Forward group at my daughter's high school and want to get the kids involved with things greater than their own self interest. Although new technology is a wonderful achievement, many kids today are isolated sitting in front of their computers and or text messaging for many hours a day instead of going outside and connecting...

Having access to supplies, materials and resources will help language learners bridge the educational gap as they explore scientific academic content through research and experimentation. Helping children thrive in the classroom promotes self-esteem and future academic success.

My life has been personally affected by organ donation. I have witnessed the strengthening of a weak spirit nearing death only to be revived by the generous GIFT of a total stranger. I have seen this spirit, given strength anew, change the lives of others in immeasurable ways. Organ donation is an exponential gift. From ONE LIFE comes MANY. Each of those lives continuing on to change other people's lives, and so on, and so on. What a GREAT endeavor this project is!!!

EXCELLENT idea! And the thought that this could be used to teach and inspire our students about renewable resources and becoming more envronmentally conscious is critical too! Think of the amount of rsources each person in the US is responsible for consuming and consider the relative desert of knowledge that we impart to our children regarding the meaning of conservation and their individual impact upon the world. This could actually be one of the best projects for education in general, for...

Aging is the disease everyone knows about yet somehow it doesn't get much attention! To have the opportunity to add decades of healthy living to everyone's lives has to be one of the most noble causes there is. Living longer is just like reproducing to keep the species going -- the difference is that when people live longer, the body of wisdom and knowledge retains more! Surely we would repeat fewer mistakes if we could remember them. This is going to be the start of a new career for me....

My 7 year old daughter has EE. She can eat a couple of foods but needs formula to meet her needs. We definitely need more research and awareness of this disease. Most doctors we have seen don't know how to treat it or what else to do to help her. I agree with others, the money should be designated to a specific organization like CURED, APFED, or one of the medical centers like Cincinnati or CHOP.

It is so important to understand that poverty does not change through donations... they only last so long. This project hits at the root of the issue, allowing the branches to produce fruit instead of throwing apples at the base of a dying tree trunk. Having lived in developing countries myself, I wish (so badly) that the masses could understand this concept.
